Time With God Alone
The Inspiration
“Time With God Alone” was inspired by the natural transition into life’s later chapters, a period marked by quiet reflection, graceful deceleration, and spiritual peace. Written from the perspective of someone looking back on a full, dynamic life, the song reflects on the balance of ambition, hard-won triumphs, and the valuable lessons hidden within past mistakes. Rather than dwelling on worldly achievements or seeking public recognition, the lyrics capture the wisdom that comes from realising that true strength is built through resilience, humility, and living authentically by one’s heart.
The song also stems from a desire to embrace a new, sacred purpose centered on inner stillness and faith. Having completed life’s heavy lifting, the songwriter shifts focus away from outward pursuits and toward spiritual communion and self-discovery. By framing this step back not as an ending, but as a peaceful, soulful homecoming, the lyrics offer a comforting vision of retirement, one where guiding others through spirit and spending quiet, dedicated time with the Divine brings ultimate contentment.

First Verse
Yes, I had ambitions, sure, was fuel to me,
Triumph was not easy; working hard was key.
Yes, I had good luck, found some debris too,
I learned to revise, how and what to do.
Second Verse
Yes, there were frustrations, some things I got wrong,
Made some rash decisions; failures made me strong,
When I made mistakes, learned why they occurred,
Learned how to amend, errors I incurred.
Chorus
I’ve lived by my heart, forever my guide,
Trust I’ve made a difference, fate was on my side,
It’s time now to wind down, my time on my own,
Time for peace, soulful peace, Time With God Alone.
Third Verse
Yes, there were occasions, I could reach the sky,
I enjoyed a challenge; true grit wins the try.
Gave it all I’d got, gave some luck away,
God will give it back, all in His own way.
Fourth Verse
Now, my feat’s accomplished, my time to relax,
I’ve enjoyed life’s journey, never looked for plaques,
Time now I reflect, time for my new role,
Guiding is my heart, my spirit, my soul.
Chorus
I’ve lived by my heart, forever my guide,
Trust I’ve made a difference, fate was on my side,
It’s time now to wind down, my time on my own,
Time for peace, soulful peace, Time With God Alone.
Outro
Time for peace, soulful peace, Time With God Alone.
