The Inspiration

Written in May 2020, the song captures the devastating heartache of having a beloved mother fall ill and face care alone due to strict isolation rules and safety restrictions. It pays tribute to a lifelong anchor, a mother whose humble dedication, unconditional support, and selfless love defined her family, while capturing the acute frustration and sorrow of being unable to hold her hand or offer physical comfort during her time of need.

Despite the heavy grief of separation, the song turns toward deep spiritual solace, resilience, and gratitude. It honours the heroic healthcare workers on the front lines while offering a message of hope, that even in physical isolation, no one suffers entirely alone. Through the central call to find “silence in your soul,” the ballad encourages families to lean on faith, prayer, and silent spiritual connection, reassuring us that love transcends physical boundaries and that comfort can be found even amidst fear and uncertainty.
