Imagine
The Inspiration
“Imagine” was born from a thought experiment exploring how dark, heavy, and hopeless the human condition would feel without grace, forgiveness, and the promise of salvation. By painting a picture of a world burdened by unforgiven mistakes and isolated struggles, the song highlights how vital compassion and spiritual hope are to the human spirit. It serves as a gentle reminder that holding onto bitterness only keeps us trapped, while practicing forgiveness has the transformative power to mend hearts, lift heavy burdens, and bring real freedom to our daily lives.
At its core, the song shifts from those shadowy thoughts to a bright celebration of faith, community, and eternal light. It invites listeners to look beyond present trials and visualise a peaceful place of reunion, joy, and divine love shared with loved ones who have gone before us. By placing trust in a guiding light during uncertain times, the ballad inspires an attitude of gratitude and reverence, encouraging us to align our lives with love, seek peace with one another, and live with enduring hope for the future.

First Verse
Imagine no forgiveness,
How distressing, that would be,
All our sins, rest with us,
No grace for you or me,
Let’s forgive, and we will see,
How love heals, and sets us free.
Second Verse
Imagine no salvation,
How abandoned we would be,
All our dreams, lost and gone,
No love for you or me,
Life can be, a trying race,
Without faith, and saving grace.
Chorus
Imagine His Kingdom, eternal joy in heaven,
Imagine that’s His promise, let His will be done,
Imagine His forgiveness, and His sacrifice,
Imagine salvation, with Him in Paradise.
Third Verse
Imagine no hereafter,
How deserted, we would be,
All devoid and darker,
No light for you or me,
He’s the light, He is the way,
He’s the truth, save us we pray.
Fourth Verse
Imagine we’re in heaven,
How amazing, that would be,
All the friends, we had won,
Rejoice with you and me,
Let’s obey, the Holy One,
And ensure, His Will be done.
Chorus
Imagine His Kingdom, eternal joy in heaven,
Imagine that’s His promise, let His will be done,
Imagine His forgiveness, and His sacrifice,
Imagine salvation, with Him in Paradise.
